Apparent murder-suicide under investigation in Kashmere Gardens after man and woman found dead: HPD

In Houston’s Kashmere Gardens area, authorities are investigating a possible murder-suicide case.

Upon receiving a call, Houston Police Department officers arrived at Coal and Linn streets, discovering the bodies of a man and a woman inside an apartment.

The circumstances surrounding the woman’s death remain unclear, although her body was found covered with sheets and appeared to have been there for a while.

The woman’s family had raised concerns after not hearing from her since Sunday, prompting them to alert the police.

Upon entering the apartment, officers encountered a distressing scene. The man, reportedly with pillows over his head, is believed to have died by suicide.

Lt. R. Willkens of HPD explained that there is a history of violence between the two, with family members suggesting the man had previously assaulted the woman, possibly resulting in jail time. Investigations are ongoing to confirm these claims.

Both the man and woman, aged 35, were residents of the apartment.
