Woman slams into 2 people next to METRO bus stop on Westheimer, killing 1, HPD says

In Houston, Texas (KTRK), the Houston Police Department reported that a female driver, displaying signs of intoxication, collided with two individuals near a METRO bus stop, resulting in one fatality. The incident occurred on Westheimer near Briarhurst around 7:24 p.m.

Initially reported as a single-vehicle crash involving a light pole, the situation evolved with the driver, in her 40s, traveling at high speed eastbound on Westheimer. She struck two pedestrians standing at a bus stop shelter, where others were also waiting. One person died at the scene, while the other sustained critical injuries.

The driver, described as stable, was apprehended by authorities. Specific charges against her were not disclosed by the police at the time of the report.
