Get your groove on for a good cause at ‘The BIG Dance’

It’s time to put on your dancing shoes and secure your ticket to The BIG Dance, a gala fundraiser supporting the Dallas Black Dance Academy.

“The community’s exposure to what’s achievable is crucial,” emphasized Tiffaney D. Hunter, Co-Chair of The BIG Dance.

“The event holds significant importance as its proceeds enable us to offer a 40% reduction in tuition fees for our students. Additionally, it facilitates in-school programming for schools across the DFW area.”

This outreach initiative aims to introduce dance to students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in lessons. While most students may not pursue professional dance careers, dance training can impart valuable life skills.

“Through dance training, individuals develop discipline, consistency, and a strong work ethic. These qualities are transferable to various professional endeavors,” Hunter explained.

“If you can maintain discipline in dance, you can do so in the corporate boardroom.”

Scheduled for June 1 at the Meyerson Symphony Center, The BIG Dance will feature Dallas native and Grammy Award-winning artist Erykah Badu as the Honorary Chair. NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 proudly serve as media sponsors. To purchase tickets, visit here.

“The BIG Dance marks a celebratory occasion, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Dallas Black Dance Academy. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the entire community to come together, enjoy a memorable evening, and contribute to a worthy cause.”
