Bodies of 2 men recovered from small lake after apparent drowning in SE Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Two individuals have died following an apparent drowning in southeast Houston on Monday, as reported by the Houston Police Department.

According to a post by HPD on X (formerly Twitter), Clear Lake officers were dispatched to a small lake in the 9700 block of Windwater Drive in the afternoon.

Lt. Crowson of HPD stated that a passerby walking along the shore discovered one of the bodies and alerted the police.

The Houston Fire Department then responded to the scene, which HPD described as a man-made lake, and located the second body.

The victims were identified as two Hispanic men, though their ages remain unknown.

Authorities believe the men may have been in the water since either Sunday evening or Saturday.

HPD is investigating whether the men lived at the nearby apartment complex. Police have noted that there were no signs of foul play.
