14-year-old found shot to death near Dallas park, police say

Police in Dallas confirmed the discovery of a deceased teenage boy in a breezeway near a park on Monday morning.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., law enforcement responded to a welfare check prompted by reports of an unconscious individual lying on the ground in a breezeway within the 4900 block of Mark Trail Way.

Upon arrival, officers from the Dallas Police Department found a 14-year-old boy deceased from a gunshot wound.

The teenager’s identity has not yet been publicly disclosed, pending notification of next of kin.

As of Monday night, authorities stated that no suspect information was available.
