HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Drivers should be cautious of high-water areas on Houston-area roads as rain continues to fall in southeast Texas.
An Weather Alert Day was declared on Tuesday as severe storms moved through Houston. A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect for Southeast Texas until 6 p.m.
Remember, if you encounter high water, do not attempt to drive through it. Turn around, don’t drown.
Houston TranStar reports the following high-water locations:
– IH-45 North Southbound at N Main St – Verified at 2:01 PM
– IH-10 East Westbound at Waco St – Verified at 2:13 PM
– US-290 Northwest Westbound at IH-610 West Loop – Verified at 5:24 PM
In the Heights, flooded streets are also affecting drivers at the corner of 14th and Oxford.
