EB lanes near Westpark Tollway at Highway 6 closed as authorities work to clear wrong-way crash

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — An early morning crash caused by a wrong-way driver shut down all eastbound lanes of the Westpark Tollway on Saturday, but the lanes have since been reopened. The closure lasted until shortly after 7:30 a.m.

The Harris County Toll Road Authority announced on the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, that the accident involved a wrong-way driver near Highway 6, causing significant delays.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Wrong Way Driver Crash on Westpark Toll Road Eastbound near Hwy 6. First Responders Are At Scene. Traffic is diverted to the FM 1464 exit, EB 1464 entrance & EB Westheimer Place entrance closed. The Left lane is closed Westbound.

Traffic was diverted to the FM 1464 exit, and the eastbound lanes near Westheimer Place were closed. Houston TranStar cameras showed vehicles backed up as emergency personnel responded to the scene.

Authorities have not provided details on the number of people involved or any potential injuries.
