Police search for man after ‘elderly’ woman found dead in her Bedford home

Bedford Police are actively seeking a man believed to be linked to the homicide of an elderly woman discovered deceased inside her residence on Thursday.

Authorities were summoned to a home in the 2400 block of Meadow View Lane at approximately 4:14 p.m. on June 6 following reports of an unconscious individual.

Upon arrival, officers encountered the lifeless body of an elderly woman, the exact cause of death remaining undetermined.

During the investigation into the death, Bedford Police detectives uncovered surveillance footage capturing a slender, light-skinned male adorned in a black shirt, black tights, white sneakers, and a potential wig approaching the victim’s front entrance.

According to investigators, the victim engaged in conversation with the unidentified individual who subsequently requested to use her phone. Following her refusal, the suspect allegedly forcibly entered the residence.

While the footage does not provide insight into the events transpiring inside the home, authorities observed the suspect exiting the premises several minutes later.

At this time, the identity of the victim has not been disclosed, and the police department has opted not to release images from the surveillance footage to safeguard the integrity of the investigation.

Residents of Bedford are urged to exercise vigilance and refrain from opening their doors to unfamiliar individuals, particularly when alone.

Individuals possessing information relevant to the case are encouraged to contact the Bedford Police Department at 817-952-2127.
