HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) — A 44-year-old man was shot in the upper torso by a deputy in northwest Harris County on Sunday, as confirmed by Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

The incident occurred when officers responded to a welfare check call in the 9600 block of Halkirk just before 7 p.m.
