Boy, 6, rescued from drowning in an apartment complex pool in Fort Worth

First responders saved a young boy from drowning in a swimming pool on Saturday night in Fort Worth.

EMTs from the Fort Worth Fire Department responded to a drowning incident reported in the 2800 block of Capella Place just before 10 p.m.

Upon arrival, emergency personnel found multiple bystanders who had pulled a 6-year-old boy from the pool at an apartment complex and were performing CPR.

The child had been in the pool for approximately two minutes before being rescued.

Authorities said MedStar medics and two firefighters transported the boy to Cook Children’s Medical Center. As of Sunday, he was awake and alert.

Officials did not disclose whether the child was related to the bystanders or if he had been left unattended at the time of the incident.
