Teen wanted in connection with two Pleasant Grove murders

Dallas police are actively searching for a teenager wanted in connection with two fatal shootings.

Authorities say the first shooting occurred on Dec. 11 in the 10500 block of Lake June Road in Pleasant Grove. The second incident took place on May 2 nearby, in the 2400 block of N. Masters Drive.

Ana Aguirre, still grappling with the loss of her son, shared her heartbreaking account from her hospital room with NBC 5. She recounted the tragic events of May 2, when a minor traffic accident escalated into a deadly confrontation.

According to Aguirre, after she accidentally struck an SUV while pulling onto N. Masters Drive, a woman claiming to be the SUV’s driver demanded her insurance card. Unable to provide a physical copy, Aguirre called home for assistance. Her 16-year-old son Isaac arrived shortly after.

“My son tried to step in to protect his mama as he always would,” Aguirre said. “Unfortunately, the other party involved in the accident called their associates.”

Moments later, Aguirre said those associates returned and an argument ensued, escalating into violence.

“They came back within minutes and the boy jumped out of the car and opened fire, hitting my son in the forehead and injuring two others,” she recounted tearfully.

Isaac succumbed to his injuries, leaving his family devastated.

Dallas police have identified the suspect as 17-year-old Pablo Veliz, linking him not only to Isaac’s murder but also to the fatal shooting of 27-year-old Aarzo Jones on Dec. 11 near Lake June Road.

“He didn’t only take one life, he took two lives,” Aguirre lamented. “He’s a kid himself, but at this point, taking two lives, you know what you’re doing.”

Aguirre emphasized that catching Isaac’s killer is crucial for her peace of mind.

Pablo Veliz remains at large, and Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS (8477) or online at P3tips.com.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to contact Detective Chris Walton of the Dallas Police Homicide Unit at 214-671-3632 or christopher.walton@dallaspolice.gov, or Detective Chelsea Whitaker of the U.S. Marshals Task Force at 214-557-9314 or chelsea.whitaker@dallaspolice.gov.
