‘Downton Abbey 3’ cinematic release date revealed

Downton Abbey Three is slated to hit the big screen next fall.

Variety confirmed on Wednesday, June 26 that Focus Featured has set the global release date of the third instalment in the Downton Abbey franchise as September 15, 2025.

The Downton creator Julian Fellowes returned to pen the script of the movie, which is currently in production in the U.K.

In addition, Simon Curtis also came back to helm the upcoming project after the successful production of 2022’s Downton Abbey: A New Era.

The regular cast members coming back for the new addition include Allen Leech, Brendan Coyle, Dominic West, Douglas Reith, Elizabeth McGovern, Harry Hadden-Paton, Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter, Joanne Froggatt, Kevin Doyle, Laura Carmichael, Lesley Nicol, Michelle Dockery, Michael Fox, Penelope Wilton, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Raquel Cassidy, and Sophie McShera.

Moreover, the new cast, including Alessandro Nivola, Arty Froushan, Joely Richardson, Paul Giamatti and Simon Russell Beale, will join the returning cast mates.

Like the rest of the instalments, Downton Abbey Three is produced by Gareth Neame, Fellowes and Liz Trubridge.

The film is a Carnival Films production, with Focus Features and Universal Pictures International having the distribution rights.
