NBC 5 Responds helps Fort Worth family pay tribute to loving mother

When families are coping with the loss of a loved one, they often face various challenges related to bereavement.

Annette Walsh sought assistance from NBC 5 Responds after encountering difficulties with a funeral home regarding her mother’s grave marker, which she had paid for in full.

Annette’s mother, Ruby, passed away in June 2021, and Annette completed payment for the marker in September 2022. Despite having paid, the marker had not been installed even after a year and a half.

Annette provided documentation showing her order for a flat grass marker at Fort Worth’s Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, including a receipt and a mock-up of how the marker was supposed to appear.

Upon NBC 5 Responds’ intervention and contact with Dignity Memorial, the funeral home operator, Ruby’s grave marker was promptly installed.

NBC 5 Responds is dedicated to investigating consumer concerns, recovering funds when possible, and striving for resolutions. For assistance, individuals can contact NBC 5 Responds at 844-5RESPND (844-573-7763) or submit a customer complaint form.
