Dallas grandmother and granddaughter bond over Eras Tour

Nancy Strong and her granddaughter Jennifer Strong recently returned from London, where they combined business with pleasure.

“Our trip to London had been planned for a long time, and we realized we overlapped one night with Taylor Swift,” Jennifer Strong recalled. “We scrambled for those tickets at the last minute,” Nancy added with a smile.

Nancy, at 90 years old, proudly identifies as a ‘Strong Swiftie’. “I might not fit the typical ‘Swiftie’ profile, but I’m definitely a Strong Swiftie,” she said. “People might wonder why a 90-year-old relates to Taylor Swift, but trust me, your heart still feels young even after so many years. You still have those same emotions. You still want to get up and dance!”

The Strongs attended two Eras Tour concerts in the past two months, starting with Paris. During the Paris concert, another fan captured Nancy dancing and posted it on social media, where it went viral.

“Taylor Swift has not only brought us closer together as family but has also brought us immense joy,” Jennifer commented. “Her songs have connected us in ways we never expected.”

“As a woman who started her career in the challenging decades of the 70s and 80s, I really relate to songs like ‘The Man’,” Nancy shared. “Taylor’s music speaks to experiences and struggles that resonate deeply with me.”

Jennifer described her grandmother as someone who embraces life fully. “She wakes up each day eager for the next adventure,” Jennifer said. “She truly lives up to her last name—Strong!”

Looking ahead, the Strongs expressed their desire to see Taylor Swift again when she performs in New Orleans.

“The atmosphere at the Eras Tour is filled with love and kindness,” Jennifer observed. “If everyone could be this kind every day, I think the world would be a more peaceful place,” Nancy added.
