Large crack on I-10 prompts closures at Washington from Beaumont into Houston

BEAUMONT, Texas (KTRK) — A significant crack on I-10 has led to the closure of the highway at Washington’s southbound lanes toward Houston, according to Beaumont Police.

Vehicles are also unable to pass under the Washington overpass. All traffic on Washington is being diverted either north or south onto the I-10 service roads, where officers are directing traffic.

If you are heading east on the west side of I-10 near Golden Corral, you will be diverted south (right) onto the service road. If you are heading west on Washington on the east side of I-10 near the Shell gas station, you will be diverted north (right) onto the I-10 service road toward Sam’s.

The Beaumont Police Department advises drivers to remain safe and alert.
