‘Mr. Injector1’ sentenced to 5 years in prison for performing illegal procedures

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Jessica Willey first reported in April about a Pasadena man known as “Mr. Injector1,” who was arrested for allegedly performing illegal butt and botox-like injections. On Friday, he agreed to a plea deal for a five-year prison sentence.

Dustin Moore, 42, was apprehended after an undercover sting operation, following social media posts and complaints from victims. One of his procedures harmed Brianne Whisnant, who spoke to the day after his arrest. Whisnant claimed Moore used fake Botox on her, leading her to file a civil lawsuit and cooperate with authorities to build a case against him.

Despite the plea deal, Whisnant expressed dissatisfaction, labeling Moore a “great con artist” and advising others to ensure their cosmetic procedures are performed by licensed medical professionals. A search on the Texas Medical Board website confirms Moore is not licensed to practice medicine.

“We felt like the DA took the first opportunity to get a plea deal and took it as a win. All the charges from us who were assaulted were dropped,” Whisnant said.

Moore faced charges for three counts of unlawful practice of medicine and one count of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

During a raid at Moore’s Skinny Sculpt MedSpa in Pasadena, one of three locations he operated, authorities recovered counterfeit Botox. Moore was escorted out in handcuffs. Records indicate this was not Moore’s first medical malpractice accusation. In 2022, he was sued for botched butt injections involving a “mystery drug” instead of an FDA-approved filler, causing serious complications for the plaintiff.

Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Sherry Ingraham with Advanced Dermatology emphasized the importance of verifying the credentials of anyone performing injections. “It can be very dangerous and deadly,” she said. “This is a medical-grade procedure. You need medical-grade people doing the procedure with medical-grade products.”
