Woman, 70, holds employee at gunpoint for refund at Fort Worth restaurant: police

A woman is in custody after Fort Worth police reported she accused restaurant staff of stealing her money and held one employee at gunpoint while demanding a refund.

The incident occurred on Thursday, June 27, at Taqueria Mi Ranchito Mexican restaurant in Fort Worth. According to Fort Worth Police Department, officers were called to the restaurant in the 5700 block of Crowley Road around 1 p.m. following reports of an armed woman threatening an employee.

Upon arrival, officers detained 70-year-old Josefina Luna while they conducted their investigation. An employee stated Luna entered the restaurant, accused staff of taking her money, and insisted on a refund. Allegedly, Luna then produced a small black pistol from her bag and kept it pointed at the employee.

During the investigation, Luna denied having a gun but officers found a firearm matching the victim’s description inside her bag.

Luna was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated robbery. Booking records indicate she is held at Tarrant County Corrections Center on a $25,000 bond.

The Fort Worth Police Department issued a statement affirming their commitment to community safety and professional service. No injuries were reported during the incident.
