4-year-old girl dies after she was left unattended in vehicle in NW Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A 4-year-old girl tragically died after being left unattended in a car Wednesday evening in northwest Houston, according to police.

Investigators reported that the girl was with two women and other children in a Chevy pickup truck. They had been running errands and parked at an apartment complex in the 6500 block of Hollister.

The women and the other children went inside an apartment, leaving the 4-year-old girl behind in the car. It is believed she remained in the vehicle for about an hour before a parent discovered her and called 911.

The girl was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
