Man charged in deadly shooting outside southwest Houston taco truck, records show

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of another man outside a southwest Houston taco truck, according to records.

Rontreyvius Wooten faces murder charges for the July 3 shooting that occurred near Richmond Avenue and Dunvale Road.

Houston police responded to the scene shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Surveillance footage obtained by shows a white car entering the parking lot on Richmond just before the shooting. The vehicle stops, and someone exits and begins firing at the victim.

Records indicate Wooten was arrested a few hours later, around 4:51 a.m.

The motive for the shooting and Wooten’s relationship with the victim remain unknown.

Wooten is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
