Bexar County jail employee fired after arrest on charge of driving a stolen vehicle

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office fired an employee Saturday after he was reportedly caught driving a stolen vehicle.

Michael Bryant Thompson, 36, had been employed as a probationary officer in the county jail since October, according to the sheriff’s office.

Officials with the Sutton County Sheriff’s Office arrested Thompson around 9 p.m. Friday on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state-jail felony.

“There is no way this person did not know the consequences of his actions,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said in a written statement. “His short career with the BCSO is now over.
