Child killed, mother hospitalized after suspected murder-suicide attempt, Frisco police say

Frisco police suspect that a mother attempted suicide Saturday after killing her child after the two were found in a parked vehicle.

Authorities were conducting a welfare check about 6 p.m. when they discovered the mother and child in the 15200 block of Preachers Lane, about half a mile northeast of Eldorado Parkway and Independence Parkway.

The names of the mother and child were not released.

The child was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after officers arrived, police spokesman Evan Mattei said. The mother has been hospitalized. Details of her condition were not available.
