BISP name not getting changed by govt: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Information minister Fawad Chaudhry announced on Tuesday that Benazir Income Support Programme’s (BISP) name will not be getting changed, while another support package will be getting issued by the government.

During a presser, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader the support programme led by late Pakistan People’s Party leaders name will no longer be getting amended while also stating that multiple other projects are in the pipeline to alleviate poverty.

He stated that several projects will be getting launched under the Ehsaas programme with another one by the name of Kilafat will also be getting introduced soon for the underprivileged with the addition of ‘Sasta Ghar Scheme.’

The name of BISP had stirred up a debate in political circles after Prime Minister Imran Khan, upon the preposition by Grand Democratic Alliance leader, had previously announced to change it
