Man shot dead outside bar near Texas Southern University

A man is dead after he was shot outside a nightclub near Texas Southern University, police said.

Houston Lt. Larry Crowson said police were called to the 3000 block of Blodgett Street outside of Spivey’s, a night club near TSU

When they arrived, they found a man that had been shot, Crowson said. He was transported to the hospital where he died.

Police believe the victim and another man were involved in an altercation moments before the man “drew a pistol and shot the victim,” Crowson said.

The suspect drove away in a dark-colored vehicle, he said.
