Bunker Hill
10/4/19 at 1700 Hours. 11800 Block of Memorial Drive. Possession of a Stolen License Plate. The ALPR system notified dispatch personnel of a vehicle with a stolen license plate traveling on Memorial Drive. MVPD officers were dispatched to the area and located the vehicle on memorial. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon interviewing the driver, it was learned that the driver had just purchased the vehicle and another subject at a local mechanic shop had sold him the license plate. The vehicle was not stolen, and it was verified that it had just been purchased. The DA’s office was contacted and declined charges for the possession of the stolen license plate. The driver was issued several citations and the stolen plate, and the vehicle were impounded pending the proper registration of the car
10/6/19 at 0200 Hours. 300 block of Gessner. Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. While on routine patrol a MVPD officer observed a vehicle traveling on Gessner failing to maintain a proper traffic lane. Upon stopping the vehicle and approaching the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol on the driver. During a subsequent investigation the driver thought it was only 9 pm. The driver was administered and failed a series of sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest and booked in to the Harris County Jail.
10/8/19 at 1545 Hours. 12000 Block of Memorial Drive. Possession of a Stolen License Plate (temp tag). The ALPR system notified dispatch of a vehicle with a stolen license plate (temp tag) traveling along Memorial Drive. MVPD officers checked the area and located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Upon investigation, it was learned that the vehicle itself was not stolen, just the temporary license plate/tag was. An investigation found that the dealer had reissued the stolen temp tag in error. The temp tag was collected by officers, and the state along with the original investigating agency were notified of the error of the stolen plate being reissued.
Hunters Creek
10/5/19 at 0900 Hours. 10700 Block of Shallowbrook Lane. Theft. The victim reported that he was performing landscaping work at the nearby property when he observed a black male in a small white vehicle drive up to his landscaping truck and take a leaf blower from a trailer before fleeing the area. The victim was only able to describe the suspect’s vehicle as a small white 4 door type vehicle. Officers checked the area for surveillance cameras however, none were located. Information was obtained and provided to detectives for their follow up investigation.
10/8/19 at 1345 Hours. 8400 Block of Katy Freeway. Fraud. The victim/business reported that a black male had purchased a safe from the business and used a credit card to make the purchase. The safe was taken by the suspect at the time of sale. On this date the credit card company notified the business that the credit card was under review and the purchase was a fraud. The business was able to provide information about the suspect that was obtained from a passport that was presented by the suspect at the time of the sale. Information was obtained and provided to detectives for their follow up investigation.
Piney Point
10/10/19 at 1145 Hours. 2200 Block of Piney Point. Theft. A passerby observed 2 black males in a gold Dodge Caliber to stop nearby a parked landscaping truck and trailer and one of the male suspects grabbed a leaf blower from the trailer before jumping back in the gold SUV and speeding away. The gold caliber was displaying a personalized license plate. Officers went to the area and located the victim/landscapers. Information was collected and provided to detectives for their follow up investigation.
10/11/19 at 0700 Hours. 1-100 Block of Windermere. Burglary of a Habitation. Officers responded to a burglar alarm at the listed location. It appears that unknown suspects attempted entry by kicking open a garage door however, were scared off after the alarm sounded. Upon further investigation it appears that the suspects had climbed a rear fence that abuts Houston. Detectives were notified and have taken over the investigation and are searching for any nearby video surveillance footage. Investigation is on-going
