Two men were injured in a pair of unrelated shootings between Friday night and Saturday morning, Dallas police said.
One of the shootings happened around 3 a.m. Saturday in the 10000 block of Royal Lane, police said. When officers arrived, they found a man shot in the shoulder area.
According to police, the suspect, who is still at large, provided a ride home to people who live at the location, but then an argument broke out and the suspect retrieved a weapon and shot the victim.
The victim was hospitalized with injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, police said.
In another shooting, a 24-year-old man was shot in the leg around 10:35 p.m. Friday in the 2800 block of Merrell Road in northwest Dallas.
The victim told police he was walking to work with a witness when they were nearly struck by a speeding black, two-door vehicle. The victim yelled something at the vehicle, and the male driver stopped and fired a round that hit the man in the leg, police said.
The suspect sped away and remains at large, police said.
Officers put a tourniquet on the man before he was taken to an area hospital in stable condition, police said.
