GoLink, the on-demand, personalized curb-to-curb service operated by Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), will launch a six-month test run in Fair Park and part of Southern Dallas.
The pilot program, already offered in areas such as North Dallas, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, Farmers Branch and Rowlett, will begin serving the Southern Dallas-Fair Park neighborhood this summer.
In a survey of 200 area residents conducted with the South Dallas/Fair Park Transportation Initiative, DART found that while extensive bus and rail service is available in the area, shorter trips to sites such as grocery stores and the local recreation center can be challenging.
Such issues are what DART hopes to rectify by authorizing the GoLink pilot program, which will cover an 8.5-square-mile area and include a dedicated accessible taxi.
