A typical August weekend

A ridge of high pressure will build over North Texas for the next few days. This will bring a fairly typical August weather pattern to our area. It’ll be seasonably hot and muggy with highs in the upper 90s through the weekend. The afternoon heat index will range from 100 to 105. Make sure to take the necessary precautions to prevent heat related illnesses.

The ridge of high pressure will shift to the west next week leading to a subtle drop in high temperatures into the mid 90s.
