Houston METRO resumes services after precautionary suspension due to hurricane

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston METRO riders Thursday morning can resume their normal routine.

The public transit suspended operations on the day before “out of an abundance of caution” while Hurricane Laura’s track remained uncertain in the Gulf.

METRO buses and Park & Ride return to a regular weekday schedule.

METRORail red line starts again at 7 a.m., and the green and purple lines resume at 8 a.m.

In addition, HOV and HOT lanes are operating at normal hours and schedule.

METRO advised that some routes may not operate according to schedule as service gradually resumes.

METRO paused service effective in Wednesday afternoon in conjunction with a Harris County disaster declaration ahead of Laura’s impending landfall.
