The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for parts of Dallas County on Tuesday as widespread thunderstorms continued moving through the area.
The warning, which lasts until Wednesday evening, says that the Trinity River is expected to rise about 1.3 feet above flood stage before dropping back below flood stage on Wednesday.
Residents should avoid driving on flooded roads and should take caution when walking near the riverbanks, the weather service said.
Tuesday was the second straight day of heavy rainfall across North Texas as scattered storms developed throughout the region. About three-quarters of an inch of rain was recorded at DFW International Airport by 8 p.m.; slightly more than that fell Monday.

The chance for rain in North Texas was expected to linger overnight Tuesday as storms moved east. On Wednesday, temperatures will remain well below average in North Texas, with highs in the mid-60s.
Temperatures are forecast to rise for the remainder of the week, according to the weather service, with dry weather and sunny skies. The possibility of thunderstorms will return over the weekend.
