20-year-old arrested in fatal shooting of man at Arlington shopping center, police say

One person was killed in a shooting at a shopping center in Arlington on Saturday afternoon.

Officers were called around 2:25 p.m. to the 4000 block of South Cooper Street and found two men lying on the ground, police said.

A 31-year-old man whose name was not released was pronounced dead at the scene. The second man, a 29-year-old, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Sunday, police arrested 20-year-old Jacob LaTravis Yi in the man’s death. Yi faces a murder charge, an aggravated assault charge, and a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Yi also had an active warrant related to a weapons charge, police said.

He is currently being held at the Tarrant County jail.
