Gunmen get into 2 accidents fleeing South Dallas shooting that injured 3, police say

Two men and a woman were injured, one of them critically, when gunmen opened fire from a vehicle in South Dallas early Saturday.

Witnesses said three men started shooting in the 2700 block of Romine Avenue, near South Malcolm X Boulevard, about 1 a.m.

One man, 25, was struck multiple times and was taken to a hospital in critical condition by Dallas Fire-Rescue.

Another 25-year-old man who had been shot was driven to a hospital; his condition was unknown. A 22-year-old woman also was driven to a hospital for a cut to her leg, but police said it wasn’t clear whether she had been grazed by a bullet or cut by glass.

While fleeing, the gunmen got into two crashes, police said.

A man involved in one of the accidents said his windshield was struck by gunfire. A woman involved in the other accident said one of the men pulled a gun on her, police said.

Police did not know what led to the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
