65-year-old man found dead in northeast Dallas

A man was found fatally shot in northeast Dallas early Tuesday, police said.

Officers were called just after 5 a.m. to the 6700 block of Eastridge Drive, near Skillman Street, after someone reported seeing a body lying on the sidewalk.

The man, identified as 65-year-old Joseph Syas, had a gunshot wound to the face and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police previously said he had multiple gunshot wounds.

Police are still investigating the circumstances and motive around the shooting and have not announced any arrests.
