Warm and sunny with a chance of spotty afternoon storms

More of the same is expected today. This early summer pattern will once again offer a chance for isolated afternoon storms. While most locations will remain dry, a few spots could receive brief heavy rain and gusty winds with these “pop-up” thunderstorms.

Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny, warm and humid today. There’s an Air Quality Alert in effect for unhealthy ozone levels. For this reason, it may be wise to limit your time outside if you have respiratory issues.

Aside from the rain chances, the days will be very warm and muggy with highs in the lower 90s through Thursday. Friday through the weekend could have highs in the mid-90s.

Looking ahead, the summer heat is expected to build, especially by next week with highs in the middle to upper 90s coming our way. Some spots may even hit 100.
