Pakistan to play Tests in Galle, Colombo

LAHORE: Pakistan will play Test mat­ches in Galle and Colombo during their two-game series in Sri Lanka next month.

According to the schedule of the series announced by Sri Lanka Cricket on Tues­day, the first Test starts at the Galle Inter­national Cricket Stadium on July 16 and then the two teams will travel to Colombo where the second Test will be staged at the Singhalese Sports Club from July 24-28.

For this series which will be Pakistan’s first assignment in the 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship cycle, the Babar Azam-led side will arrive in Sri Lanka on July 9 and play a two-day warm-up from July 11. The venue for the warm-up will be confirmed in a while.

Pakistan last toured Sri Lanka in July 2022 when a two-match Test series resulted in a 1-1 stalemate.
