Heat Advisory today, then some slight relief for the weekend

Friday will still be a hot day with a Heat Advisory in effect until 8 pm. Friday’s highs will be in the 100 to 103-degree range with a heat index as high as 108.

A change in the jet stream pattern will bring a needed break in the heat to North Texas this weekend. The heat dome will shift into the western United States allowing temperatures to cool just a bit across Texas. Highs will be in the mid 90s Saturday and upper 90s Sunday.

Unfortunately the heat dome will return to our area next week with several days of triple-digit heat.
