A destructive fire tore through an apartment complex in Fort Worth overnight from Friday into Saturday, leading to the evacuation of two dozen residents, officials confirmed.
The Fort Worth Fire Department responded to the fire alarm at 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, arriving at the scene in the 8200 block of Porsche Drive to find heavy flames engulfing the roof of a two-story apartment building.
Although the fire remained at one alarm, additional fire engines were called in to provide support.
According to Fort Worth Fire officials, the blaze displaced 18 adults and six children. Four apartments were completely destroyed, while others suffered varying degrees of smoke and water damage.
Emergency assistance is being provided to those displaced by the American Red Cross Greater North Texas.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, which remains under investigation.
