Wind gusts of up to 30 mph were reported around the Houston area Monday afternoon, prompting the National Weather Service to ask motorists to take it easy on the roads.
Gusts of 31 mph were reported at Bush Intercontinental Airport on Monday, with slightly stronger gusts observed at Tomball/Hooks Airport.
In a tweet, the National Weather Service likened the winds to a hair dryer and urged drivers to be careful on overpasses and elevated roadways.
