Haltom City police search for suspect they say pistol-whipped a Dollar General clerk

Haltom City police are searching for a man who they say pistol-whipped and robbed a clerk at a Dollar General on Jan. 16 and may also be linked to a recent Grand Prairie robbery.

The Haltom City incident happened at a store in the 4900 block of Western Center Boulevard.

Police lobbed a few acerbic barbs toward the suspect in a Facebook post, describing him as having an “embarrassing attempt at a mustache.”

The suspect was wearing sunglasses, gloves and a hoodie at the time of the robbery, police said.

“The unibomber here wore sunglasses, gloves and a hood to try to keep our sharp-eyed citizens from identifying him, but there’s no hiding that embarrassing attempt at a mustache,” police wrote on Facebook.

Police have issued a warrant and said the suspect will face aggravated robbery charges.

The clerk was being “absolutely compliant” at the time the suspect started assaulting him, police said.

On Wednesday, Haltom City police said they were able to link the suspect to a robbery that happened at a Grand Prairie Whataburger and posted video footage of that incident on Facebook.
