Heat Advisory through Sunday

After a hot and humid week, it’s getting even hotter this weekend. A Heat Advisory remains in effect for North Texas through at least 8 pm Sunday. It is quite likely that the advisory will eventually be extended into Monday and Tuesday as well.

High temperatures will be near 100 Sunday afternoon, but it will feel even hotter with heat index values around 110. Take precautions to keep cool if you have to be outdoors during peak heating hours as heatstroke can be deadly. Remember to check on the elderly and keep your pets cool with plenty of fresh water.

A weakening complex of storms may move into parts of North Texas from Oklahoma early Sunday morning, but most of us will remain rain-free. The main chance for rain will be in northeast Texas.

The Texas summer heat will last throughout next week with highs remaining in the upper 90s to low 100s.
