Man arrested, charged with murder in death of transgender woman

A man has been arrested and charged with murder in the July death of a 22-year-old transgender woman who was found with a puncture wound and severe lacerations on her body.

Joshua Dominic Bourgeois, 25, is charged with murder in the 180th state district court, Houston police announced Saturday. He is accused of killing Tracy Williams, who also went by Tracy Single.

Police took Bourgeois into custody Friday without incident.

Authorities found Williams July 30 in a business parking lot off a Katy Freeway service road. Police released Williams’ identity Aug. 15.

During the investigation, police said they discovered Bourgeois had been in a dating relationship with Williams.
