Man found fatally shot near pickup in Red Bird apartment complex

Dallas police discovered a shooting victim lying dead next to a pickup Wednesday morning at an apartment complex in the Red Bird area of southern Dallas.

The victim, whose name has not been released. was found around 12:12 a.m. in the 7300 block of U.S. Highway 67, police said. He was lying near the driver’s side of the truck near an apartment exit.

A 911 caller told police an SUV with two people inside drove away from the scene shortly after the shooting occurred.
