Police: Son fatally stabs father at west Houston apartment

A man is dead after being fatally stabbed by a teen son, who then called police Wednesday night to report what happened, authorities said.

The son called police around 6:30 p.m. from an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Eldridge Parkway, officials said. By the time police arrived, the father had died.

Both of the man’s sons, ages 14 and 18, were at the apartment and were taken into custody. Their mother was also home, police said.

“We’re pretty confident that one of the two sons is the suspect,” Houston police Lt. Larry Crowson said.

The circumstances behind the fatal stabbing were not yet known.
