Man accused of fatally shooting boss taken into custody

A man was shot and killed at his north Harris County home Friday after getting into an argument with an employee, sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies arrested Jatraveous Williams, 22, in connection with the death of his boss, 56-year-old Leonard John Ruffer, after being called to Ruffer’s home early Friday evening and finding him shot to death

Williams allegedly shot Ruffer, a neighbor who runs a floor installation company, after getting in an argument that culminated in Ruffer firing Williams.

While a family member attempted to bring Williams into the sheriff’s office for questioning, deputies said Williams pulled out a pistol, prompting the family member to stop at a gas station and call authorities
