Dallas police say man whose body was found last month in east Oak Cliff was slain

Police have identified the remains of a body found last month in east Oak Cliff and say they are treating the death as a homicide.

On Nov. 26, officers responded to a call for service regarding a body around 10:47 a.m. in a wooded area at 1900 Sargent Road.

However, the body’s severe decomposition prevented the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office to immediately identify the remains.

On Dec. 2, the medical examiner’s office ID’d the individual as Louis Davis, 41, and ruled that he died of homicidal violence.
