Typical July heat continues this week

Typical July heat will remain the main weather story to start the new week. However, we’re not looking at an oppressive heat wave. Instead, highs will be near (or perhaps slightly below) normal for the next few days in the mid 90s. Of course it will feel hotter with the heat index close to 100. High pressure will remain in control which will continue to limit our rain chances. However, with afternoon heating, a couple of stray showers or thunderstorms may try to bubble up Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. The better chance will favor the southeastern counties.
