Hot weekend continues

A ridge of high pressure over North Texas will maintain a fairly typical August weather pattern this weekend and through all of next week. It’ll be seasonably hot and muggy with highs in the upper 90s. The afternoon heat index will exceed 100 on many days. Make sure to take the necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.

The ridge of high pressure will shift to the west the following week leading to a subtle drop in high temperatures into the mid 90s. Rain-free weather is expected to continue for the next ten days.
