Houston Zoo Lights canceled again tonight due to expected rainy weather

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — You may have to put your holiday weekend plans of going to Zoo Lights on hold until we’re out of the woods from stormy weather.

The Houston Zoo announced Saturday morning that it is canceling Zoo Lights for a second night in a row due to stormy weather.

According to a release, guests who already purchased tickets can visit another day. Ticket holders should check their email for details.

“The safety of zoo staff, guests and animals is the Zoo’s top priority. The animals have safe and secure barns and night houses that have been constructed to weather storms like this one,” the release stated. “The Zoo will update its plans to reopen as the weather event continues.”

Off and on rain continues across southeast Texas, and that rain will be with us through the afternoon and even in to the evening.
