Here’s how you can get on a COVID-19 vaccine waitlist in Plano

Plano is partnering with Collin County to get residents on a COVID-19 vaccine waitlist, the city announced.

Residents can sign up for the county’s waitlist online in order to get contacted when vaccines become available and an appointments can be scheduled.

Arlington gave more than 6,500 people the COVID-19 vaccine last week, as immunizations continue

The waitlist is intended for Collin County residents who meet the state health department’s Phase 1A and Phase 1B categories for receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Those categories include frontline health care workers, first responders, people over the age of 65 and people with underlying health conditions who are especially vulnerable to the virus.

Due to the limited number of available vaccines, residents are also encouraged to contact their primary health care provider and their local pharmacy to ask about additional vaccine availability.

Private health care providers such as pharmacies, hospitals, physicians are maintaining their own lists separate from Collin County’s, the city said.

A current list of vaccine providers is available on the Texas Department of State Health Services.
