Much colder weather coming

With afternoon sunshine, DFW reached a high of 58 before a weak cold front arrived. Behind the front, temperatures began to fall and parts of North Texas will see a light freeze Sunday morning. South winds and milder temperatures are expected Sunday and Monday.

The first in a series of strong cold fronts will arrive Monday night. Temperatures will fall significantly Tuesday and later in the week North Texas will experience the coldest air of the winter season so far. There will be several days next week where high temperatures do not make it out of the 30s. Low temperatures will dip into the low 20s and the teens can’t be ruled out for parts of the area.

Precipitation will be rather light, but a mix of light rain and sleet may fall Wednesday night into Thursday morning. And there is even a chance of some snow towards the end of the ten day forecast.
