Grand Prairie voters here’s when and where to vote in the city council special election

Early voting for the Grand Prairie City Council District 2 special election begins on Wednesday.

The special election is to fill the vacancy for the unexpired term of Jim Swafford, former District 2 City Council member and Deputy Mayor Pro Tem. Swafford died from COVID-19 in December, a month after his wife, Judy, passed away from the virus.

Nine candidates have filed for the special election. The winning candidate will complete the unexpired District 2 term which ends in May 2022.

The candidates for the special election are:

  • Frank Gonzalez
  • Dennis King

  • Feb. 10-12: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Feb. 13-15: Closed
  • Feb. 16-20: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Feb. 21: Fort Worth location closed. Grand Prairie location open from 1 to 6 p.m.
  • Feb. 22-23: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
